The American Le Mans Series sees Le Mans type cars tackle America and Canada’s finest circuits across ten rounds, starting with the 12 Hours of Sebring and culminating with Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.

In 2011, Dunlop secured the American Le Mans Series manufacturers’ title with BMW for the second successive year, the LMP teams’, drivers and tire manufacturers’, GT teams’, drivers’ and manufacturers’ championships.

This year Dunlop is eager to defend its titles and continues its successful partnerships with BMW and Dyson. In the P2 class, the majority of the grid has chosen Dunlop whilst in GT the Chopard Porsche joins the Dunlop stable for the first time.

Dunlop and Le Mans

Dunlop has been part of endurance racing since the early days of Le Mans when the Bentley Boys achieved serial success, through the glamour years of the 1950s, when Jaguar did the same.

The cars are different today – with the Le Mans Prototypes at the forefront of technology and very far removed from what you would see on the roads, with the GT classes very highly evolved from their production car bases.
