Assen

Country: Netherlands
Length: 4 542 m. / 2,822 miles
Corners: 17; R11; L6
Longest straight: 487 m. / 0,303 miles

Bike GP racing’s oldest circuit underwent radical changes five years ago, with the length cut from 3.73 miles (5.99 km) to 2.83 miles (4.56 km) with the loss of the first loop. Very tight corners start the new lap, but then the track reverts to its classic fast and flowing character.

Dunlop’s view:

Another fast track with long sweeping corners… pretty abrasive, which is good if it rains because there is plenty of grip, but in terms of slicks it means we’ll be towards the harder end of the range. With modern compounds and tyre warmers, the tight first corners are not a problem.
