Phillip Island

Country: Australia
Length: 4 448 m. / 2,764 miles
Corners: 12; R5; L7
Longest straight: 900 m. / 0,559 miles

The scenic seaside circuit is the most old fashioned – and the fastest – of the year. It is often cold and windy; while fast corners often lead to close racing at the front. But the set of fast lefts that finish the lap pose special problems to riders and tyre engineers alike.

Dunlop’s view:

Phillip Island is probably the most “handed” track on the calendar, mainly because of the long fast lefthanders leading onto the straight. They just cook one side of the tyre. It will certainly be a dual-compound track, and possibly also asymmetric construction.
