Sepang Circuit

Country: Malaysia
Length: 5 548 m. / 3,447 miles
Corners: 15; 10R; 5L
Longest straight: 920 m. / 0,572 miles

The main feature of this mainly fast and flowing circuit is the sapping heat and humidity, punishing to riders, motorcycles and tyres alike. Unpredictable tropical downpours are always possible. Greater awareness of racing has seen crowds grow in recent years.

Dunlop’s view:

The biggest factor is the heat. Again it’s a dual track and the right-hand side can get very hot, so consistency becomes an issue for lap times if you go too soft. But people want to go soft because it’s not a grippy surface. You need a balance of consistency and grip.
