Dunlop’s links with the muddy world of Motocross and its cousins go back to the beginnings of the sport. Dunlop’s first purpose-built Motocross tyre was the K88 Sport, developed at Fort Dunlop. Today’s knobbly tyres with specialised construction continue to push the performance limits to the present, in a highly competitive environment.

The company’s tyres are the first choice for two major manufacturer teams, and have a history of race and championship success.

The series runs over 16 rounds, with races in Europe, Russia, Mexico and Brazil. Dunlop supports teams in the MX1 class.

Dunlop races with the official factory teams for Honda and Kawasaki. The official Honda World Motocross team has two riders in the MX1 class, Evengy Bobryshev and Rui Gonҫalves. The official Kawasaki Racing Team has two riders in the same category, Gautier Paulin and Xavier Boog. The official Honda support team “LS Honda Motor” is also shod on Dunlop tyres with Ken De Dycker and Jonathan Barragan as riders.

Away from the major factory teams, Dunlop supports TM Racing with their MX1 and MX2 teams running on Dunlop tyres.

Motocross fills the same role for Dunlop as road-racing: a high-pressure research lab whose findings are used in continual improvement to production off-road tyres.
